Description

SOUND-SUPPORTED GUIDED MEDITATION

This is a gentle, guided meditation class supported by sound at the beginning of the session to help the body and nervous system settle.

The practice invites you to arrive in the body, soften mental busyness, and rest attention within present-moment experience. Sound is used briefly and intentionally at the start of the class, and then set aside so the meditation can deepen in stillness, awareness, and embodied presence.

There is nothing to achieve and no prior meditation experience required. You are invited to come exactly as you are.

WHAT TO EXPECT

Each session follows a simple, steady structure designed to feel supportive and easy to follow.

Arriving with Sound (15 minutes)
The class begins with the gentle playing of Tibetan singing bowls.
This opening period supports:

  • Settling the nervous system
  • Slowing the breath naturally
  • Helping attention arrive in the body

You are welcome to lie down or sit comfortably, allowing sound to support a sense of ease and arrival.

Guided Meditation (30 minutes)
After the sound concludes, the practice moves into guided meditation.
Guidance may include:

  • Awareness of natural breathing
  • Sensing the body from within
  • Noticing thoughts and emotional tone with kindness
  • Resting in open, receptive awareness

The emphasis is on grounding and embodiment, rather than effort or concentration.

Reflection and Integration (15 minutes)
The session closes with time for integration.
This may include quiet reflection, optional sharing, or a short inquiry.
Silence is always welcome, and sharing is never required.

THE ROLE OF SOUND

Sound is offered gently and sparingly at the beginning of each class to support settling and orientation.

Tibetan bowls and other soft percussive sounds are played slowly with space and silence between tones. Sound is not something to follow or analyse, it is simply a support for arriving, after which the meditation continues in stillness.

THE MEDITATION PRACTICE

The meditation offered in this class is rooted in direct, lived experience.

Attention is gently guided toward breath, body, sensations, thoughts, and emotions, allowing them to be noticed as they arise and pass. Alongside this, there are invitations to sense the wider field of awareness that already holds experience.

This combination supports:

  • Grounding attention in the body
  • A softer relationship to thoughts and emotions
  • A sense of steadiness and openness that can carry into daily life

The practice is held in a way that is accessible, non-striving, and supportive of nervous system regulation.

WHO THIS CLASS MAY SUPPORT

This class is suitable for:

  • People new to meditation
  • Those who find silent meditation challenging
  • Anyone experiencing stress, mental busyness, or emotional fatigue
  • Sensitive nervous systems
  • Experienced meditators seeking a grounded, embodied approach

You will be held in a choice-led, trauma-informed space, where you are free to sit, lie down, move, or step outside as needed.

WHAT TO BRING

Just bring yourself and some water to stay hydrated.
Mats, cushions, and blankets are provided, though you are welcome to bring anything that helps you feel comfortable and supported.

This class is an invitation to slow down, arrive in the body, and rest with your experience in a gentle and grounded way, supported by sound, guided meditation, and a steady, caring space.
