reset & root
Sound, Stillness & Integration Mini Retreat
Reset & Root is the opening mini retreat in the monthly Sound, Stillness & Integration series. This 2.5 hour retreat focuses on grounding, regulation, and establishing a felt sense of support, creating the conditions for the body and nervous system to slow down and settle.
Rather than aiming to change or fix anything, this retreat offers a spacious container in which attention can naturally return to the body, the breath, and the present moment. It is an invitation to arrive, soften, and reconnect with what is already here.
VENUE: St. Martins Church, Vicarage Road North. Castleton, Rochdale.

What to Expect
This 2.5-hour mini retreat unfolds as a gentle, continuous journey rather than a series of separate practices. All elements are offered invitationally, with plenty of space to rest, move subtly, or remain still.
The session will include:
You are welcome to lie down, sit, adjust your position, or step back at any point. There is no expectation to participate in any particular way.

exploring the theme: reset & root
This retreat centres on grounding as a lived, internal experience…one that is felt in the body rather than understood conceptually.
Attention is gently invited inward, toward sensations of contact, weight, and support. Awareness may naturally settle in the lower body, particularly the hips, legs, and feet, helping the body to sense its connection with the ground and its relationship with gravity. These areas often hold patterns of tension or bracing, and bringing kind, steady awareness here can support a sense of stability and containment.
At times, awareness may be guided through the body in a simple, spacious way, similar to a body scan…inviting sensations to be noticed without effort or analysis. The emphasis is not on moving attention “correctly,” but on allowing felt experience to reveal itself at its own pace.
Through sound, stillness, and embodied awareness, the nervous system is supported to soften and settle. Grounding here is not something to achieve, but something that can be sensed and allowed, creating a foundation of steadiness from which awareness can naturally deepen.

how this retreat supports you
Rather than working toward a particular outcome, Reset & Root creates conditions that support:
These qualities can continue to unfold beyond the session, subtly supporting how you meet daily life.

a gentle beginning
Each mini retreat stands alone, and Reset & Root also serves as an entry point into the wider monthly rhythm of practice. Whether you come once or return regularly, you are welcome exactly as you are.
